Since 2015, ExtremeTerrain’s (XT) Clean Trails Initiative (CTI) has provided funding for motorized trail improvement projects nationally to help rid the stigma associated with 4×4 and off-road clubs and their impact on the environment. Last year, XT expanded their CTI eligibility requirements allowing non-profit, non-motorized organizations, like nature preserves, land trusts, and hiking & biking trails, the opportunity to apply for a clean-up grant.

Today, XT is proud to announce they have assisted over 93 trail clean ups while donating over $23,250 toward these efforts. Additionally, the CTI application form is open for 2020, allowing new clubs and organizations to claim their trail clean up grant from XT while helping bridge the gap between environmentalists and outdoors-people.

PAOLI, Pa. (February12th, 2020)–ExtremeTerrain(XT), the off-road outfitter known for customizing Jeep Wranglers,Gladiators, and Toyota Tacomas and Tundras, continues to give back through the Clean Trails Initiative (CTI) program in 2020. Originally launched in 2015, the program seeks to reward local clubs and organizations with small, project-specific,grants to be used for trail maintenance and restoration. In the approximately 5 years since it started, the program has provided$23,250 in trail project grant funds. The program was originally designed with off-road and 4×4 clubs in mind, a group of organizations that often get a bad wrap for their treatment of trails. Therefore, XT expanded the eligibility of the CTI program in 2018 by including non-motorized organizations like nature preserves, land trusts, and hiking & biking trails—groups with shared visions as most of the motorized clubs. The e-commerce auto parts company provides all these ambassadors with supplies and funding to clean and maintain private and public trails, bridging the divide between environmentalists and recreational enthusiasts.

The grant money ultimately supports and brings awareness to dozens of non-profit organizations with conscientious members dedicated to the lands which they traverse. As 2020 ramps up into the spring and summer season, the necessity to support trail clean-ups and stewardship increases. Therefore, XT is rededicating itself to the program by supporting the non-profit organizations who educate their communities about the proper rules and regulations that govern lawful use of public lands. Application for 2020 rail grants are being accepted right now and it is very easy for leaders of trail projects to complete. Members from XT’s team will notify grant winners within a few days of entering and receive a package of trail cleaning supplies shipped out soon there after
