The question has been circling for a little while now, will Jeep release editions of the JL like they did the JK? I’m happy to report that Jeep has recently brought some nostalgia to the table while also paying homage to their roots with the Black and Tan JL, as well as Willy’s edition.
As we’ve seen before Jeep loves to spice things up with different mashups, and in my personal opinion, they really hit the nail on the head with these two. Speaking of their evolution Jeep is also now offering new powertrain options in their 2020 lineup. We finally get to witness the 3.0L turbo diesel V6 that we have been waiting for making 260HP and 422 foot lbs of torque.
Some of the drivetrain options offered in the 20 line up will only be offered in some trims, but you can rest assured that the 3.0L turbo-diesel will be offered in the Sport, Sahara, as well as the Rubicon. However, they will exclusively have the 8-speed automatic transmission and so will the 2.0L.
The only motor that will offer either a 6-speed manual trans or the optional 8-speed automatic transmission will be OG V6. We also got a taste of the mild-hybrid eTorque system in the 2.0L that uses a 48-volt belt starter generator to improve fuel economy, however, in the newest lineup we get to see those benefits in the Pentastar V6 but only on the Sahara trim.
